I thought it would be good to make a list of Bollywood Classics in addition to music...

So what are some of the movies you think are classic and often refered to in Indian culture that everyone should educate themselves about?

Here are a few I can think of:

Mother India
Sholey


And my mind is now drawing blank.. I know I know more!.. what can you guys think of?

Some of my favorite classics are:

Don
Gol Maal
Chhoti si Baat
Amar Akbar Anthony
Shree 420 (cute thing related with that--there is a song where Nargis and Raj Kapoor walk under an umbrella together and have a song.  My husband always starts singing that song when we walk in the rain together but it wasn't until I saw that movie that I saw where it came from.  Now I love it when he sings that!)

Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (sure, it's from 1995, but it's definitely a classic even now!)
